Why Pray?

“We are not human beings on a spiritual journey.
We are spiritual beings on a human journey.”
Teilhard de Chardin

As awareness of our sacred connection to the natural world has weakened, so has our ability to hear and sense the Spirit of God and the Mystery of Life gently whispering and touching our spirit in a deeply personal way.  Our path to deep peace and purpose is rooted in our desire to reunite our spirit with the Spirit of Life. To pray is to open your heart to the source of Universal Love.

What is Prayer?

Prayer is quiet introspection that creates space to experience something more.  A space where the depth and beauty of the Breath of Life can connect, touch and awaken your depth.

Prayer is a glance toward Infinite Wonder. An opportunity to inhale Eternal Love and Peace in the present moment.

Prayer is an honest conversation with the Spirit of Gentleness and Understanding with whom you can share your deepest wonderings, needs and pain as you would to a faithful friend who knows and loves you deeply just as you are.

St. Teresa of Avila describes prayer as spending time alone with the One who loves you.

Life as Prayer

The invitation to move deeper into mystery of prayer is an invitation to explore the deep mysteries of our daily lives and the world in which we live. As we open the eyes of our heart, we can see that the Spirit of God lives and breathes in everyone and everything around us. We need not wait for the awe and wonder of extraordinary moments to transport our perspective to this bigger reality.

When seen through the lens of Love, life becomes prayer because everything is sacred.

Communal Prayer

Personal prayer flows into communal prayer.

Like trees, human beings are deeply nourished when rooted in community, reaching for light and growing together. Prayer together unleashes a collective energy of love that flows out from us into our world encircling all in need of healing, peace and comfort.

Prayer together frees us from our separate sense of self and unites us as one human family in love and care for each other. United In this space of Love, transcending all cultural and religious distinctions, something new can be born; something unspeakably sacred beyond our imagining.
